Refund Policy

Shell’s Gems for STEM Foundation, Inc. is committed to maintaining transparency and fairness in all financial transactions. This Refund Policy establishes the Foundation’s guidelines for refunds related to donations, event tickets and merchandise purchases.

Donations

All donations made to Shell’s Gems for STEM Foundation, Inc. are generally considered final and non-refundable.

However, the Foundation may review and approve a refund in the following limited circumstances:

The donation was made in error, such as a duplicate donation or an incorrect amount.
The transaction was unauthorized or resulted from suspected fraudulent activity.
The Foundation determines that a refund is appropriate due to an administrative or processing error.

Refund requests related to donations should be submitted in writing as soon as possible after the transaction to donations@shellsgemsforstemfoundation.org or mailed to 7 Flower Road, Somerset, NJ 08873.

The Foundation reserves the right to request documentation or additional information necessary to review a refund request.

Event Tickets

Event tickets are generally non-refundable; however, ticket purchasers may request a refund if the request is submitted at least 7 calendar days before the scheduled event date.

7 or more calendar days before the event: A full refund may be requested.
Less than 7 calendar days before the event: Tickets are non-refundable. This includes cancellations, failure to attend, or no-shows.
Event cancellation by the Foundation: If Shell’s Gems for STEM Foundation, Inc. cancels an event, ticket holders will be eligible for a full refund or, when applicable, may choose to transfer their ticket to a rescheduled event.

Refund Request Deadline

All event ticket refund requests must be submitted in writing no later than 7 calendar days before the event.

For requests submitted by mail, the request must be postmarked no later than 7 calendar days before the event date.

For requests submitted by email, the email must be received by the Foundation no later than 11:59 p.m. on the seventh calendar day before the event.

(Example: If an event is scheduled for January 8th, the last day to request a refund is January 1st at 11:59 p.m.)

Requests received or postmarked after the applicable deadline will not be eligible for a refund.

How to Request a Refund

Refund requests must be submitted in writing using the Foundation’s designated contact information.

Please include:

Full name of the purchaser or donor
Date of the transaction
Amount of the transaction
Order or confirmation number, if applicable
Reason for the refund request
Preferred contact information

For event ticket refunds, please include the event name and event date.

The Foundation will review refund requests and respond within 10 business days of receiving the request.

Method of Refund

Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method used for the transaction.

Refund processing times may vary depending on the payment processor or financial institution. The Foundation is not responsible for delays caused by a payment processor or financial institution after a refund has been issued.

Exceptions and Special Circumstances

The Foundation may consider exceptions to this policy when circumstances outside of the purchaser’s or donor’s control warrant special consideration. Approval of an exception is at the sole discretion of Shell’s Gems for STEM Foundation, Inc. and does not establish an obligation to approve similar requests in the future.

This provision does not override any rights or protections provided by applicable law.

Merchandise Sales

Shell’s Gems for STEM Foundation, Inc. strives to ensure that all merchandise orders are accurately fulfilled and that products arrive in good condition.

Refunds and Returns

Merchandise purchases are generally non-refundable and non-returnable except as provided below.

A refund or replacement may be considered when:

The merchandise arrives damaged or defective.
The wrong item, size, color, or quantity was shipped due to an error by the Foundation or its fulfillment provider.
The item received materially differs from the item described or ordered.
The order was duplicated or charged incorrectly due to an administrative or processing error.

Refunds will generally not be issued for:

Buyer’s remorse or a change of mind.
Incorrect size selection by the purchaser.
Items that have been worn, washed, altered, or otherwise used, except when the issue involves a manufacturing defect.
Normal wear and tear.
Damage caused by improper use, care, washing, or storage.
Failure to provide an accurate or complete shipping address.
Packages confirmed as delivered by the carrier but reported missing after delivery, except where the Foundation determines that an exception is appropriate.

Once in the possession of the carrier, Shell's Gems for STEM Foundation, Inc. is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged packages. Please contact the shipping carrier for concerns related to shipping and delivery.

Refund Request Deadline

Requests for refunds or replacements due to damaged, defective, incorrect, or materially different merchandise must be submitted in writing within 14 calendar days of the date the merchandise is delivered. The delivery date will generally be based on the tracking information provided by the applicable shipping carrier.

Requests received or postmarked after the applicable deadline will not be eligible for a refund or replacement.

How to Request a Merchandise Refund or Replacement

Refund or replacement requests should be submitted in writing to:

The request should include:

Purchaser’s full name
Order or confirmation number
Date of purchase
Description of the merchandise
Reason for the request
Description of any damage, defect, or fulfillment error
Photographs of the merchandise and packaging, when applicable
Preferred contact information

The Foundation may request additional information or documentation before approving a refund or replacement.

Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method. If a replacement is approved, the Foundation will provide instructions regarding the replacement process.

The Foundation will make reasonable efforts to review merchandise refund and replacement requests within 10 business days of receiving all information necessary to evaluate the request.

Shipping Costs

If the Foundation determines that merchandise was damaged, defective, incorrect, or materially different from what was ordered due to an error by the Foundation or its fulfillment provider, the Foundation may provide a refund or replacement and may reimburse reasonable return shipping costs when applicable.

Shipping costs associated with returns based solely on a purchaser’s change of mind, incorrect size selection, or other purchaser-related reason are generally not refundable.

Exceptions

Shell’s Gems for STEM Foundation, Inc. may consider exceptions to this policy for unusual or unforeseen circumstances. Any exception is subject to the Foundation’s discretion and does not create an obligation to approve similar requests in the future.

Nothing in this policy is intended to limit or waive any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

Policy Changes

Shell’s Gems for STEM Foundation, Inc. reserves the right to modify or update this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on the Foundation’s website and will include a revised effective date.
