Our Core Values
7 Core Values for College Completion
SCHOLARSHIP
We believe scholarship is more than financial support - it is the pursuit of knowledge, excellence, and personal growth. We empower students to become scholars who are curious, committed to academic excellence, and prepared to make an impact.
GROWTH
We believe every student should have opportunities to grow academically, professionally and personally.
FAITH & FOCUS
We believe God has a purpose for every student. We keep faith at the center and purpose in sight, encouraging students to trust God, pursue their goals, and use their gifts to make a difference in their communities.
SUCCESS & SUPPORT
We believe success is achieved through both opportunity and support. Every student deserves the support and resources needed to succeed. We stand alongside, and are committed to equipping them as they navigate challenges, pursue their goals and work toward a successful academic future.
FOUNDATION
We believe a strong foundation creates the pathway to a successful future. By easing the financial obligation of higher education, we help students focus on building the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to thrive.
Why Seven Core Values?
Shell's Gems for STEM Foundation, Inc. adopted seven core values because the number seven represents completion, wholeness, and fulfillment, which closely aligns with the heart of our mission, vision and purpose. Our mission is to reduce the financial obligation of higher education and increase the successful completion of undergraduate STEM concentrations.
For us, completion means more than simply reaching graduation. It represents the culmination of a student's academic journey - the opportunity to build a strong foundation, grow in knowledge and character, develop as a scholar, remain grounded in faith and purpose, and receive the support necessary to reach their goals.
Our seven core values reflect the principles we believe help students move from opportunity to achievement and from enrollment to completion. Together, they serve as a foundation for how Shell's Gems for STEM Foundation supports, encourages, and empowers students throughout their educational journey.
Because our ultimate goal is not simply to help students start their STEM education, but to help them successfully complete it, seven was a meaningful and intentional choice.
